As far as MBBS admission is concerned ,The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam is authorized to do counselling and admissions in Assam. Admission will be on the basis of NEET UG 2023.
If we talked about NEET UG 2023, it is scheduled on May 7,2023 (Sunday) by NTA and result will be declared by June 13,2023.

NEET UG 2023 Exam revised schedule Manipur State
Today (25.05.2023) NTA has released tentative schedule NEET UG 2023 Examination for Manipur states candidates which is as follows:

As NTA has declared NEET UG 2023 examination schedule for Manipur candidates who have missed their Examination in between 03 to 05 June 2023 , so we can expect NEET UG result by June 13,2023.

The DME will commence the Assam MBBS admission 2023 by publishing the application form along with the prospectus.
This facility will be available online after declaration of NEET UG Result 2023 which is likely to be declared by June 13,2023 .
Last year NEET UG Exam was conducted on July 17 (Sunday). Only those candidates will be able to fill application form who will qualify NEET UG examination.
After the completion of the registration process of Assam NEET 2023, state merit list will be released .In Govt. medical colleges 15% of total seats are reserved for All India Quota and counselling for these seats are conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
For the remaining 85 % seats of Govt. colleges and 100% seats of private medical colleges(if any) counselling will be conducted by state authority.
There are Twelve (12) Govt medical college, including one AIIMS medical college with 50 seats and one dental college in Assam in 2023-24 session. As far as MBBS seats are concerned there are 1450 seats .
MBBS seats in India 2023
As per latest information , at the time of 2023-24 counselling there will be more than 710 medical colleges with 110000 MBBS seats in India .If we compare with last year data this year there will be 12000 more MBBS seats.
Till now 53 new medical colleges gets approval for MBBS admission in coming session 2023-24. Out of these 53 new medical colleges 31(Thirty one) are Government and 22 (Twenty Two) are deemed/private medical colleges.
If we check state wise new medical colleges ,highest 12 (Twelve) are in Telangana ,05 (five) each in Rajasthan ,Andhra Pradesh & Maharashtra ,04 (Four ) in Gujarat ,03 (Three) each in Assam, Haryana ,Karnataka , Tamil Nadu , 02 (Two) in West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha , J& K and 01 (one) each in Uttar Pradesh & Nagaland .
As of now, as per official website of NMC ( June 22,2023) there are 706 medical colleges in India . Out of these 706 medical colleges there are 389 Govt./Semi Govt. , AIIMS & Central Universities/ Instituitions , 52 are deemed Universities and remaining 265 are private medical colleges in various states/UT’s of India. If we talked about number of MBBS seats ,till now there are 108148 MBBS seats (56268 in Govt. /Semi Govt. Instituitions & 51880 in private/Deemed medical colleges across India).

Assam MBBS BDS Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria
All medical aspirants are supposed to check the eligibility criteria before taking part in Assam MBBS counselling 2023. Some of the important parameters are mentioned here.

The medical aspirants must qualify NEET UG 2023

He/She must be a citizen of India.

The minimum age of the applicant must be 17 years as on 31 December 2023
-
Each candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent standard with English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.

To get benefit of state domicile candidate must have studied from class 7th to 12th from the schools of Assam state.

Applicant have to be medically fit at the time of admission .

Student must score 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (in case of General category) and 50% in the same for the reserved category(SC/ST/OBC).

Domicile benefit will be given to only those students whose parents are residing in Assam state for at least 20 years.

Assam MBBS BDS Admission state Merit List 2023
After declaration of NEET UG 2023 result ,state counselling authority will release the Assam MBBS/BDS 2023 state merit list . The list will have the name of the candidate, NEET UG 2023 All India Score and percentile, NEET rank and state rank. Only those candidates will be able to take part in counselling whose name is mentioned in this list. Medical aspirants are supposed to fill the online form before taking part in state counselling .
