The Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), Puducherry is the competent authorized for conducting the common counselling related to Puducherry medical admissions like MBBS and BDS course . As per latest information , at the time of 2023-24 counselling there will be minimum 702 medical colleges with 107658 MBBS seats in India .If we compare with last year data this year there will be 8195 more MBBS seats.

Till now 50 new medical colleges gets approval for MBBS admission in coming session . Out of these 50 medical colleges 30 (Thirty ) are Govt. medical colleges while remaining 20 (Twenty ) are private/deemed  medical colleges. If we talked about state wise distribution of these medical colleges ,highest 11 (eleven ) are in Telangana ,05 (five) each in Rajasthan & Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra 04( four) ,Assam, Gujarat, Haryana ,Karnataka , Tamil NAdu 03(three) each, West Bengal, Odisha , Jammu & Kashmir 02(each) and Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh , Nagaland 01(one)each.

As of now as per official website of NMC ( June 9,2023) there are 695 medical colleges in India . Out of these 695 medical colleges there are 383 Govt./Semi Govt. , AIIMS & Central Universities/ Instituitions , 51 are deemed Universities and remaining 261 are private medical colleges in various states/UT’s of India. If we talked about number of MBBS seats ,till now there are 106333 MBBS seats (55468 in Govt. /Semi Govt. Instituitions & 50865 in private/Deemed medical colleges across India).

Puducherry NEET 2023 Admission – Introduction

Puducherry MBBS/BDS admission 2023 – Eligibility criteria

All the applicants who are looking for admission in MBBS or BDS course in  Puducherry UT must  fulfil the criteria of eligibility. The Puducherry UT for MBBS/BDS course eligibility criteria is as follows.

• applicant must have cleared 10+2 examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of the state/UT or any other equivalent exam.

• candidate have to qualify 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC/ST aspirants) in aggregate, in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology and English. He/She must have passed each subject individually also.

• English is also compulsory in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Biology .

• The medical aspirants must be an Indian national.

• Non-Resident Indian (NRI) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are also eligible for admission in MBBS/BDS course

• Applicants should be at least 17 years old at the end of year of admission.

• NEET UG exam qualified is necessary for all including NRI/OCI

Puducherry MBBS/BDS admission – Eligibility for management quota

Applicants who have qualified in NEET UG 2023 can apply for management or NRI seats. There is no restriction like domicile or residence criteria for management and NRI quota seat. So, applicants from other states can also apply for the management /NRI quota seat if they  are ready to pay management quota fee .

Puducherry MBBS BDS  Admission Application form Released

CENTAC has released the Puducherry NEET  UG 2023 application form in online mode from month of June,2023 for all eligible Candidates after declaration of NEET UG 2023 result which is expected in May End ,2023. Applicants are supposed to apply for the same by entering his/her  personal, academic, and contact information. Candidates are also supposed to enter his/her NEET UG 2023 details. They are supposed to  upload scanned images of  colored photograph between 20 to 25 KB in JPG format only. Application form will be submitted successfully only after depositing the form fee.

The counselling committee will release the updated merit list for Puducherry NEET 2023 admission for different types of seats. The criteria for preparing the Merit List for Puducherry NEET admission 2023 will be prepared on the basis of SCORE (All India Rank) in the NEET-UG 2023. The counselling committee, CENTAC will release the Puducherry NEET 2023 merit list .If there is any object then write a mail .Then  final merit list for Puducherry MBBS admission 2023 will be published after considering the objections of the medical aspirants if any.

Committee will conduct the Puducherry NEET UG 2023 Counselling in online mode. Candidates who have paid the application fee within the specified period of time will be allowed to fill their choice of courses and colleges during the Puducherry NEET UG 2023 counselling. Based on their merit, committee will allot the seats for Puducherry MBBS/BDS admission 2023.

Candidates are supposed to report the allotted college and deposit the college fee along with original fee. In addition to this student have to submit  provisional allotment order( which can be downloaded from official website ).
