NEET UG stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted in India for admission into undergraduate medical courses, such as MBBS/BDS, in Government and private medical colleges .

NEET UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) once a year, typically in May.

If we talked about NEET UG 2024 , registration date it may starts frm February 8, 2024.

The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, and  candidates are supposed to attempt 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. The duration of the exam is three hours , twenty minutes, and it is conducted in offline mode (pen-and-paper mode).

To be eligible for NEET UG, a candidate must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. The minimum age limit for appearing in the exam is 17 years, and there is no upper age limit for the same. The NEET UG score is used by various Government ,semi Govt., Central /Deemed Universities and private medical colleges across India for admission into undergraduate medical courses.

Candidates can apply for NEET UG online through the official website of NTA, and the application process usually starts in December-January. The admit card for the exam is released a few weeks before the exam date. After the exam, the NTA releases the answer key and the result, which includes the candidate’s score, rank, and percentile.

  4. Reporting to the Allotted College: Candidates who have been allotted seats must report to the respective college within the specified time and complete the admission process. Candidates need to carry all the required documents in original for verification, pay the admission fee, and complete other formalities.
  5. Subsequent Rounds of Counselling: If a candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat or does not get a seat in the first round, they can participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling. Candidates need to register again for the subsequent rounds and repeat the above steps.

Ans: Any general category student whose family income from salary, agriculture,business,profession and other sources must not be higher than 8 lakh.

A candidate will be excluded irrespective of his/her family’s total income if the family has any of the following things:

Counselling Types and procedure

1.All India Quota and Deemed universities  and Central University admission

In this category any student can apply and get a Govt. quota seat irrespective of his/her state.

15% seats of all Govt. state colleges comes under this category.

2.State quota admission

All students can apply against 85% Govt. Quota  seats of their respective state

How many types of seats are available in medical colleges?

In Govt . colleges 15% seats for all India quota and 85 % for state quota.

Other states students are not allowed against these 85% seats.

In private college every states have its own criteria.

Eg. In Uttar Pradesh 100 % seats are available for students through out India ,there is no domicile requirement and even fees is also same.

If we talked about Haryana Private colleges 50% seats are reserved for state domicile  candidates and 50% for All India quota but fee is same for all.

In Karnataka there are four types of seats:

1st category(G)-Govt. quota seats- Fees is 1,25,500/-

2nd -Private seat-9,98,000/- for most of the colleges except

Question :List of item that are not allowed in examination hall during NEET UG 2024 exam ?

Candidates are NOT allowed to carry any Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room. Diabetic students are allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/ orange) and transparent water bottle to the Examination Hall. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwich etc.
