As Karnataka is an open state and other state students( non domicile candidates) can also participate in counselling and can get admission on the basis of their marks .
Karnataka is famous for it’s Medical education. This state have comparatively low fee and is having highest number of MBBS and PG medical seats . If we talked about number medical colleges in Karnataka , it is second highest after Tamil Nadu.Due to above three reasons Karnataka is one of the top most priority for medical aspirants from all over India.

Before going to start our main topic we would like to share MBBS seats in India .
Total MBBS seats in India 2024
As per latest information , at the time of 2024-25 counselling there may be minimum 725 medical colleges with 125000(Expected) MBBS seats in India .If we compare with last year data this year there will be 8195 more MBBS seats.
Last year 50 new medical colleges gets approval for MBBS admission . Out of these 50 medical colleges ,highest 11 (eleven ) were in Telangana ,05 (five) each in Rajasthan ,amp; Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra 04( four) ,Assam, Gujarat, Haryana ,Karnataka , Tamil NAdu 03(three) each, West Bengal, Odisha , J,amp; K 02(each) and Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh , Nagaland 01(one)each.
As of now as per official website of NMC ( February 5 ,2024) there are 706 medical colleges in India . Out of these 706 medical colleges there are 390 Govt./Semi Govt. , AIIMS ,amp; Central Universities/ Instituitions , 52 are deemed Universities and remaining 264 are private medical colleges in various states/UT’s of India. If we talked about number of MBBS seats ,till now there are 108915 MBBS seats (55468 in Govt. /Semi Govt. Instituitions ,amp; 50865 in private/Deemed medical colleges across India).

1st category (G): Government quota seats in private medical colleges for state domicile candidates only. If we talked about fee it is very nominal just 1.45 Lakhs per annum.

2nd category(P):Private seats:-Means seats in private colleges and these seats are available for all medical aspirants irrespective of their state domicile. If we talked about fee it’s 9,94,406 per annum.

Open Category:- For Non-Karnataka students
3rd category(N):NRI Quota seats:-15 % of the total seats are reserved for NRI quota in KPCF,AMPCK ,amp; KRLMPCA Private colleges.
4th category(O):Others:-5 % of the total seats are reserved for others quota in KPCF,AMPCK ,amp; KRLMPCA Private colleges.
