If we talked about admission authority, Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) is responsible for conducting various levels of counselling .First of all it will release prospectus having complete details for MBBS admission .
It is mandatory to apply on the official website to take part in counselling . Only NEET UG qualified candidates are eligible for admission .

As far as NEET UG 2023 is concerned ,it was conducted on May 7 (Sunday).NEET UG Result was declared by mid of June and then counselling Process was started at all India level as well as state level.
There will be at least three level of counselling -Round one, Round two and mop up round .If still there is any seat remains vacant then stray vacancy round will be there.
Medical aspirants must note that Jammu and Kashmir do not take part in all India level counselling conducted by MCC in which 15% seats from All Govt. colleges are included but from last year,15 % seats of all Govt. medical colleges will be available through AIQ MCC.
NEET UG 2024 Cut off J , K will be released only in online mode for medical aspirants whose names are present in the seat allotment list.
MBBS seats in India 2024
As per latest information , at the time of 2024-25 counselling there will be more than 725 medical colleges with 125000 MBBS seats*( expected) in India .If we compare with last year data this year there will be 12000 more MBBS seats.
Last year 53 new medical colleges gets approval for MBBS admission for session 2023-24. Out of these 53 new medical colleges 31(Thirty one) were Government and 22 (Twenty Two) were deemed/private medical colleges.
If we check state wise new medical colleges ,highest 12 (Twelve) were in Telangana ,05 (five) each in Rajasthan ,Andhra Pradesh , Maharashtra ,04 (Four ) in Gujarat ,03 (Three) each in Assam, Haryana ,Karnataka , Tamil Nadu , 02 (Two) in West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha , J, K and 01 (one) each in Uttar Pradesh , Nagaland .
As of now, as per official website of NMC ( February 10,2024) there are 706 medical colleges in India . Out of these 706 medical colleges there are 389 Govt./Semi Govt. , AIIMS , Central Universities/ Instituitions , 52 are deemed Universities and remaining 265 are private medical colleges in various states/UT’s of India. If we talked about number of MBBS seats ,till now there are 109015 MBBS seats (56268 in Govt. /Semi Govt. Instituitions , 51880 in private/Deemed medical colleges across India).

NEET UG MBBS cut off Jammu Kashmir
To get admission in any of the medical colleges of the J , K state, the cutoffs of J , K NEET UG 2023 will be prepared for all state quota seats. The cutoffs will be prepared after the completion of NEET UG 2023 exam.
Authorities will conduct various online rounds of counselling for admission in various MBBS/BDS colleges of Jammu , Kashmir .As far as seats are concerned there are 100 seat in a private medical college and 1000 in Govt. colleges of the state.
