Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) is the state counselling committee for profession medical courses admissions. All the admission will be on the basis of NEET UG 2024 .

NEET UG 2024 Examination will be in conducted once and in offline mode (pen and paper based ) not computer based.
The state counselling committee will publish the admission form for Jharkhand MBBS admission 2024 in the end of June/July , 2024 in online mode . Applicants who wants to take admission in state must qualify the NEET UG 2024 exam .In addition to this he/she must fulfil the eligibility criteria of the state. Only eligible applicants can apply for the state counselling .
If we talked about number of seats ,there are around 980 MBBS seats in Jharkhand including private , Government medical colleges and deemed.
If we talked about private and Deemed medical college in Jharkhand there is one private medical college namely- Laxmi Chandravansi medical college ,amp; Hospital and deemed medical college is –Manipal Tata Medical College, Baridih Jamshedpur.
Good part is that state quota seats are reserved in this deemed medical college and fees relaxation is also there for domicile candidates.

IAs per latest information , at the time of 2024-25 counselling there will be more than 725 medical colleges with 125000 MBBS seats*( expected) in India .If we compare with last year data this year there will be 12000 more MBBS seats.
Last year 53 new medical colleges gets approval for MBBS admission for session 2023-24. Out of these 53 new medical colleges 31(Thirty one) were Government and 22 (Twenty Two) were deemed/private medical colleges.
If we check state wise new medical colleges ,highest 12 (Twelve) were in Telangana ,05 (five) each in Rajasthan ,Andhra Pradesh ,amp; Maharashtra ,04 (Four ) in Gujarat ,03 (Three) each in Assam, Haryana ,Karnataka , Tamil Nadu , 02 (Two) in West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha , J,amp; K and 01 (one) each in Uttar Pradesh ,amp; Nagaland .
As of now, as per official website of NMC ( February 5,2024) there are 706 medical colleges in India . Out of these 706 medical colleges there are 389 Govt./Semi Govt. , AIIMS ,amp; Central Universities/ Instituitions , 52 are deemed Universities and remaining 265 are private medical colleges in various states/UT’s of India. If we talked about number of MBBS seats ,till now there are 109015 MBBS seats (56268 in Govt. /Semi Govt. Instituitions ,amp; 51880 in private/Deemed medical colleges across India).

State counselling will release the admission form for Jharkhand MBBS admission 2024 in second week of June 2024 in online mode . Applicants who wants to take admission in state must qualify the NEET UG 2024 exam .In addition to this he/she must fulfil the eligibility criteria of the state. Only eligible applicants can apply for the state counselling .
Jharkhand MBBS merit list 2024
After successful form filling ,state counselling committee will publish state merit list for Jharkhand MBBS 2024 admission in the the begining of June/ July,2024. List list will contains names of all those applicants who are eligible and applied the application form. This merit list will shows details like applicant’s name, NEET UG roll number, NEET UG Marks, category, domicile and qualifying status.

Now all those applicants who are eligible and having their names in state eligibility list will be allowed to do counselling. These applicants can fill the choices of colleges online. Although their is a provision of documents verification of the candidates but this time this may change. Please verify the same at the time of counselling.

Number of MBBS seats in Jharkhand
As per official date of NMC on February 5, 2024 there are total 980 seats in Jharkhand.Out of these 730 seats are in govt medical colleges and remaining 250 in private/deemed medical colleges. You also must also know that 15% seats of Govt. colleges are reserved for All India Quota. So effectively there are only 620 Govt MBBS seats for state domicile students. One more important thing student must know that students from Bihar can also participate against these seats. This is the reason cut off goes on higher side.
