MBBS seats in India 2024
As of now ( December 19,2023) there are 706 medical colleges in India . Out of there 706 medical colleges there are 390 Govt./Semi Govt. ,AIIMS , Central Universities/ Instituitions , 52 are deemed Universities and remaining 264 are private medical colleges in various states/UT’s of India. If we talked about number of MBBS seats ,till now there are 108915 MBBS seats (55468 in Govt. /Semi Govt. Instituitions , 50715 in private/Deemed medical colleges across India).

If we go through the official website data we find that from 2021-22 session to 2022-23 session around 100 new medical colleges gets approval for MBBS admissions.
