Scope of B.V.Sc & A.H
Bachelor of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & AH) is a five-year undergraduate program that focuses on the study of animal health and welfare, animal husbandry, and veterinary science. The scope of this program is vast and varied, and graduates have a wide range of career options to choose from.

B.V.Sc & A.H counselling Process
Veterinary Council of India (VCI) will start admission through counselling in the month of August, . Applicants wiling to take admission in B.V.Sc & A.H. courses have to apply on the official by filling the admission form. As there are total 5087 seats and through this counselling student will be eligible to fight against admission to 761 (15 % AIQ )Bachelors of Veterinary Sciences (B.V.Sc) , A.H. seats . As of now there are around 50 Government and around 10 private veterinary Institutes across the India.

If we talked about newly added colleges , three private Veterinary colleges of Rajasthan are as follows:

All India level admission are on the basis of marks secured in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test .
NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled on May 3 ,2026 (Sunday) and result is expected by June 15,2026. You must know that ,VCI will conduct online counselling to fill the 15% All India Quota seats, which are reserved in all government colleges of India. As per norms of VCI Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE) regulations 7(8) 2016, 15% of the total seats from each college will be available for all India quota.

VCI will start counselling after declaration of NEET UG result .This time NEET UG result is expected in the month of June . On the basis of the marks secured in NEET UG exam , choices entered by applicants, number of seats available, types of reservation, the seats allotment process will start. Successfully allotted applicants have to report at their respective college/Institutes for completing the admission formalities. All such students are supposed to visit college along with original and photocopy of relevant documents . The course of B.V.Sc , A.H. is similar to MBBS for a duration of five and a half years which includes 12 months rotatory internship.

B.V.Sc and A.H/Veterinary Admission Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are suggested to read the complete details carefully to avoid last moment rush and mistake. There are few factors which decide the eligibility criteria for any type of admission. Some of the important factors are given below:

Applicants should be Indian Citizen

Those Applicants who comes under NRI, Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) cardholder and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) can also participate in counselling and take admission. All other Applicants are consider in general category.

Since the provisions of Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984, have not been extended to the state of J and K, so, Applicants from J , K are not eligible for counselling to 15% All India Quota seats. However, such Applicants who do not hold domicile of the state of J and K have to submit an affidavit as prescribed by the competent authority.

Applicants must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31.

Relaxation of 5 years is given to Applicants of Other Backward Class (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST).

As per VCI-MSVE regulations 2016, 15% of the total seats will be compulsorily allotted on the basis of All India Rank of the NEET UG examination.

Documents required after AIPVT counselling
Applicants who have been allotted college successfully through online counselling are supposed to report respective college with original documents. In addition to this they are supposed to carry four sets of self attested photocopy of all the documents while reporting at the college/Institute allotted to them. Admission of those Applicants will be cancelled who fail to produce the required documents at the time of admission.
